The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) was established by the Indian Government in 1923 as a department of the government of Tamil Nadu. Its primary responsibility is to oversee the selection of candidates for the state’s public service, with all recruitment processes being based solely on merit.

Educational Qualification:

  • Must possess an I.T.I. Certificate in Civil Draughtsmenship from a Government recognized institute.
  • Provided that preference shall be given to the persons possessing a Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2023): 

  • 37 years.
  • For SC/ST/SCA/ MBC/DC/BC(OBCM)/BCM/Destitute widows : No maximum age limit.

Age Relaxation :

  • For PwBD : Age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed.
  • For Ex- Servicemen : The maximum age limit for Ex-servicemen is 50 years.

Note :

  • Answer sheets of Paper-I and Part B of Paper II of the candidates will be evaluated, only if the candidates secure minimum qualifying marks in Part-A of Paper-II.
  • Only Marks secured in Paper-I and Part-B of Paper-II will be considered for ranking.
  • The questions in Paper-I (Subject Paper) ITI Standard and the questions in Part-B of Paper-II (General Studies) will be set both in Tamil and English language.
  • Selection will be made in single stage, based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
  • A tentative list of eligible candidates for certificate verification will be announced in the Commission’s website.
  • After verification of the original certificates, the eligible candidates will be summoned for final selection through counselling method.
  • The applicant who has not appeared for any of the subjects in the examination will not be considered for selection, even if he / she secures the minimum qualifying marks for selection.
  • First, the selection will be made for the Backlog vacancies.
  • Secondly, the selection will be made for regular vacancies following the rule of reservation of appointments.

Application Fees :

  • For One Time Registration : Rs 150/-
  • Examination Fees : Rs 100/-
  • For SC , ST , Ex-Servicemen , PwBD , Destitute Widow : Exemption from exam fees.

Note :

  • The Examination fee should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment if they are not eligible for the concession noted below.
  • One Time Registration is valid for five years from the date of registration.
  • After completion of five years, the applicant must renew the One Time Registration by paying the fee prescribed.
  • The One Time Registration is different from the application for the examination.
  • Written Examination fee of Rs.200/- , is payable by online mode.
  • Those who have registered in the One-Time Registration system and paid the registration fee of Rs.150/- and received the registration ID need not pay the Registration fee i.e., Rs.150/- and it is enough to pay the examination fee alone.

Educational Qualification:

Agricultural Officer (Extn) :

  • A Bachelor degree in Agriculture (B.Sc Agriculture).
  • Must possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.

Assistant Director of Agriculture (Extn) :

  • A degree of M.Sc in Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Economics.
  • Provided that other things being equal, preference shall be given to those who possesses the M.Sc., degree in Agricultural Extension.

Horticultural Officer : Must possess a Degree in B.Sc Horticulture.

Note : Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.

Age limit :

Agricultural Officer (Extn) :

  • Should not be more than 32  years (for persons holding a bachelor degree in Agriculture).
  • Should not be more than 34 years (for persons holding a post graduate degree in Agriculture such as M.Sc., (Agriculture) or Ph.D.
  • The age limit for applicants holding a degree of B.Sc(Horticulture) is not to exceed 32 years, while the age limit for those holding a degree of M.Sc(Horticulture), M.Sc.(Floriculture and Landscaping), M.Sc(Vegetable Science), M.Sc.(Spices / Plantation and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants) or Ph.D in Horticulture is not to exceed 34 years.

Selection Process of TNPSC Exams 2023 :

  • The selection process consists of Examination which will conducted in OMR / Computer Based Test (CBT) Method.
  • The paper is in Objective type.
  • Only marks secured in Paper-I and Part-B of Paper-II will be considered for ranking.
  • The Paper-I, or subject papers, will be written in English and the PART-B of Paper-II will be provided in both Tamil and English.
  • The final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the applicants at the written examination and oral test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.
  • Applicants’ appearance in the written examination and oral test is compulsory.
  • The applicant who has not appeared for any of the subjects in the written examination or Oral Test will not be considered for selection, even if he/she secures the minimum qualifying marks for selection.

Prospective and qualified applicants can submit their application for the job through the official website, with a mandatory “One Time Registration” linked to their Aadhaar number. The deadline to apply for the post is February 10th, 2023. Candidates will have the opportunity to make any necessary changes to their application during the correction window period from February 15th, 2023 at 12:00 am to February 17th, 2023 at 11:59 pm.
